rusia-espana-768x513
Havana, Jun 3 (Prensa Latina) The signing of legal agreements to strengthen cooperation and Cuba's work systems with Russia and Spain characterized this week's news on the Caribbean island.

The agreement with Moscow was penned by the president of Cuba’s Supreme People’s Court, Ruben Remigio, and the general director of the Russian Federal Bailiff Service, Colonel General Dimitry Aristov, who described the event as a magnificent opportunity to continue to consolidate ties between both institutions.

Cuba has appreciated the effective work of the Russian Federal Bailiff Service, whose officers, headed by Aristov, have expressed their desire to collaborate with Cuba, Remigio said.

During the week, notaries from Cuba and Spain inked a cooperation agreement that will allow improving Cuba’s legal work and will contribute to the growth of unity within the sector, from the unification of trends and bilateral procedures.

According to Cuban Minister of Justice Oscar Silvera, “the agreement will essentially seek better ways to meet the demands of our notarial service to meet the demand from the people with quality.”

During this week, the 1st International Congress on Children and Adolescents was in session in the western province of Matanzas.

The event brought together some 300 participants from thirty nations, both in person and virtually, to share perspectives, experiences and challenges in the participation, care and well-being of children.

The vice president of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child, Luis Ernesto Pedernera, one of the guests at the event, considered Cuba’s work in protecting children commendable and comparable with first world countries.

The fact that the Cuban Constitution places children’s best interests and progressive autonomy at its core is an important achievement, as was the approval of the Family Code, the expert pointed out at a meeting with representatives of the Cuban civil society organization.

Cuba denounced fascist acts committed by the transnational extreme right wing in European countries against exponents of national culture.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attacks on prestigious Cuban artists and intellectuals, including the Buena Fe duo (in Spain), and what it called the ignominious revocation of the status of Honorary President of the Poetry Market event in France to world renowned writer Nancy Morejon.
