The foreign ministers are discussing the possible launch of a common currency and the expansion of the group, which some 19 countries hope to join, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The event will serve to promote a new multilateralism in the world and its agenda includes preparations for the next Summit of Heads of State and Government of the economic bloc.
The ministerial meeting is key for the organization and is part of the readiness for the Summit of Heads of State of the BRICS that will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, between August 22nd and 24th.
