Judge María Elbia Merlo sentenced the defendants for “continuous crimes of deprivation of freedom, aggravated in real repetition with countless crimes of torture.”
Seven people denounced in 2021 that they had been deprived of their freedom, sexually abused and tortured in the Infantry Battalion Number Six in San José during the 1973-1985 dictatorship.
According to the judgment, the complainants identified the repressors.
The ruling stated that they were hooded and subjected to cruel and degrading treatment during captivity.
