The dialogue took place after the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Brics Friends countries, held in this city.
During the meeting, held in an atmosphere described by the participants as friendly, both parties exchanged on the state of bilateral relations and ratified the willingness to strengthen political dialogue and cooperation between Cuba and South Africa.
On the occasion, the South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation congratulated Cuba for the work it is currently carrying out as chair of the Group of 77 plus China.
She also ratified the support of the South African people and government in the battle for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.
On behalf of the government of the island, Peñalver thanked South Africa for its solidarity and reiterated Cuba’s unwavering commitment to supporting African causes.
Pandor was accompanied by Ambassador MP Bona, Chief Director for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa.
Present on the Cuban side, headed by the First Deputy Minister of the Minrex, were the Cuban Ambassador to South Africa, Enrique Orta González, and Rodolfo Benítez Verson, Director General of Multilateral Affairs and International Law of the Minrex.
