Previously, the delegation of the also National Coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, largest mass organization in Cuba, held a meeting with representatives of the solidarity movement with Cuba in the Slavic nation.
Hernandez thanked the Russian friends for their efforts and support to achieve the release of the five heroes imprisoned in U.S. jails for fighting terrorism.
He also exchanged with Cuban workers in Russia and updated them on the economic situation of the country in the face of pressures of the unilateral sanctions against the people of the Caribbean nation and ratified that the Cuban people, together with their friends, will defeat the U.S. blockade.
At the beginning of his visit to Russia, Gerardo Hernández placed a wreath at the monument erected to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro in Moscow.
The Cuban hero and member of the Council of State made the visit at the invitation of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, organization with which he held several meetings and coordinated work actions.
He also held meetings with deputies of the Federal Assembly and directors of the Diplomatic Academy, and visited places of interest as well as historical sites of the Russian capital, such as the Red Square and the Victory Museum.
