Paraguay’s President opens transition with president-elect Peña

Asuncion, Jun 1 (Prensa Latina) Paraguay’s President Mario Abdo on Thursday appointed here the transition team that will carry out the process of transferring powers of the State to the Santiago Peña administration.

“I´ve issued a decree to establish a transition team. We formally begin the cooperative work between the National Government and the representatives of the president-elect, with a view to the transfer of power on August 15. Paraguay needs all of us working side by side,” Abdo tweeted.

Meanwhile, Santiago Peña -representative of the governmental National Republican Association Colorado Party (ANR-PC) – made public his commitment and agreement to set up these teams for the information transfer.

“We will work in a coordinated, mature and responsible way so that the transition achieves its important goals, for the sake of all Paraguayans,” Peña live-tweeted.
