The child sexual abuse is a pending issue in Paraguay, which accumulates separate situations of children and teens subjected to different forms of violation, the Fono Ayuda service of the Ministry of Children and Adolescents said.

The report, published to commemorate the National Day of Fight against Sexual Abuse and All Types of Violence against Children and Adolescents, includes incidences of many victims of mistreatment, sexual exploitation and other offensive actions.

Wednesday’s activities and the statistical reports on child sexual abuse recall the 18th anniversary of May 31, 1999, when the 11-year-old Paraguayan girl Felicita Estigarribia was found dead and sexually abused.
