“The Kiev regime has attempted a terrorist attack this morning using unmanned aerial vehicles against facilities in the city of Moscow, and for the operation they used eight (drones), which were destroyed by the Russian air defense,” the Ministry of Defense reported.
According to the information, three of the drones strayed from their targets after their control was wrestled away from their operators using electronic warfare, and the other five were shot down by a Pantsir-S system.
Earlier, the mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, reported that several buildings suffered minor damage as a result of a drone attack. There were no serious injuries, but two of the affected buildings had to be evacuated.
Two people requested and received medical assistance at the scene, Sobyanin said.
For his part, the governor of the Moscow province, Andrei Vorobiov, attributed the detonations heard in the morning in some districts to the work of the air defense.
Despite the attack, the airports in the capital and the Moscow province were operating “normally,” the federal air transport agency reported.
