In recent declarations to Prensa Latina, economist and independent consultant Cesar Villalona said there will be no Frente Amplio, that the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN) will go alone to the elections of February 2024, something that was confirmed by the launching of a candidacy to the internal elections of that group by former congressman Manuel “El Chino” Flores.
In the expert’s opinion, other groups such as Alianza Nacionalista Republicana (Arena) and Nuestro Tiempo, for example, will follow the same course towards the “slaughterhouse” where they will be swept away by President Bukele.
This Tuesday, in a report, the newspaper El Mundo makes an approach to the subject in which it points out that the Bloque de Rebeldia y Resistencia Popular (BRP) and the Alianza Nacional El Salvador en Paz differ in the opposition candidacy.
Both have differences on which ideological trends should be included in the construction of a single opposition candidacy to compete for the presidency of the Republic in 2024, the newspaper, one of the main critics of the government, pointed out.
