Cuban president highlights the alternative value of the BRICS

entrevista-presidente-cuba-RT
Moscow, May 30 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel described the BRICS group as an important alternative to the international economic order in the face of the hegemony of the dollar, he said in an interview published today by RT in Spanish.

“The BRICS (formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), above all, defend multipolarity, multilateralism in relations. By defending multilateralism, the BRICS are in opposition to the Cold War concepts, and offer the possibility of a fairer and more equitable international economic order that favors everything,” he said.

According to Díaz-Canel, Washington intends to maintain total control of the world economy, supported by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB), which creates a “totally unfair, undemocratic” order.

“Today, international relations in the world are based on an aggressive and hegemonic policy of the US government, which constantly builds walls, applies coercive sanctions, blackmail, aggression and slander,” the president told the Russian media.

Likewise, he denounced the pressures of successive White House governments towards Cuba, through the economic, commercial and financial blockade.
