In his message of congratulation, Putin stressed that “the victory in the elections is a natural result of your selfless work heading the Republic of Türkiye, a clear sign of the Turkish people’s support for your efforts to strengthen the sovereignty of the State and implement an independent foreign policy.”
The president assured that the Russian authorities highly appreciate Erdogan’s contribution “to strengthening the friendly Russian-Turkish relations and the mutually beneficial cooperation in several fields.
The head of State also emphasized his willingness to continue constructive dialogue on topical issues of the bilateral, regional, and international agenda.
Türkiye’s Supreme Election Council President Ahmet Yener said that with 99.43 percent of the ballots counted, Erdogan received 52.14 percent of votes and Kemal Kilicdaroglu 47.86 percent.
