We verified the affection and friendship shown to the national coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) across the country, the diplomat said and highlighted the meeting with Khamkhan Chanthavisuk, Secretary of the Central Committee of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and Provincial Governor of Luang Prabang.
Hernández also met with Aonsay Chaphaiva, Vice President of the Lao Front for National Development.
In both meetings, the long-standing friendship between Laos and Cuba and the willingness to continue expanding it were underscored, the Cuban diplomat said.
On Sunday, the Cuban CDR delegation visited the Saysettha Development Zone, a project that is part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, and the Laos-Cuba Friendship Secondary and Pre-University School.
Finally, the visitors fraternally met with Cuban collaborators in higher education and sports who are working in this country.
The CDR national coordinator and his accompanying delegation arrived in Laos from Vietnam on May 21 through the Lao Bao International Border Gate in Savannakhet province, about 460 kilometers from Vientiane.

Orgullo y satisfacción deja visita a Laos de Héroe de Cuba
Vientiane, 29 may (Prensa Latina) La embajadora cubana en Laos, Enna Viant, manifestó hoy el orgullo y la satisfacción que dejan la visita realizada a esta nación del sudeste asiático por el Héroe de la República de Cuba Gerardo Hernández.
Constatamos el cariño y la amistad prodigados al también coordinador nacional de los Comités de Defensa de la Revolución (CDR) a lo largo del país, subrayó la diplomática y destacó el encuentro con el secretario del Partido Popular Revolucionario de Laos (PPRL) y gobernador de la provincia de Luang Prabang, Khamkan Chanthaviouk.
Hernández dialogó también con el vicepresidente del Frente Lao para el Desarrollo Nacional, Aonsay Chaphaiva, y en ambos casos fue subrayada la amistad de larga data existente entre Laos y Cuba y la disposición de continuar ampliándola, abundó la jefa de la misión cubana aquí.
En su último día de estancia en territorio laosiano, la víspera, la delegación cederista realizó sendas visitas a la Zona de Desarrollo de Saysettha, un proyecto que forma parte de la Iniciativa de la Franja y la Ruta de China, y a la escuela secundaria y preuniversitaria Amistad Laos-Cuba.
Por último, tuvieron un fraternal encuentro con colaboradores cubanos de los sectores de educación superior y deportes que prestan servicios en esta nación del sudeste asiático, a quienes acompañó además un compatriota residente en el país.
El coordinador nacional de los CDR y su comitiva llegaron a territorio laosiano el 21 de mayo procedentes de Vietnam, a través del puesto fronterizo internacional de Lao Bao, en la provincia de Savannakhet, distante a unos 460 kilómetros de esta capital.
