Through his Twitter account, he reiterated the willingness to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest with those countries, which are linked by historic ties of friendship.
Cuban President, Miguel Díaz-Canel, ratified last week that Cuba can serve as a bridge between the EEU and Latin America, via teleconference at the meeting of the Supreme Economic Council of Eurasia.
Díaz-Canel stressed that Cuba has important and diverse links with Latin American and Caribbean nations, and with the EEU states that would allow forging solid and profitable ties between the countries of both regions.
“As an observer member of the EEU, Cuba considers that the satisfaction of the growing and diverse needs of our countries can only be solved through the deepening of trade and cooperation links in accordance with the potentialities offered by each country,” the president stressed.
He added that there are currently possibilities to increase exchanges between our nations in areas such as food and energy security, investment in industrial and technological development, the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, and human resources training.
