Rodriguez Hernandez explained the history and evolution of the US economic campaign against Cuba during different periods of the Cuban Revolution.

He also referred to the severe impacts of the blockade, whose economic, financial and commercial damage exceeds 150.41 billion dollars and, taking into account the depreciation of the dollar against gold, that figure amounts to one trillion dollars, he pointed out.

The diplomat condemned Cuba’s reincorporation on the so-called State Sponsors of Terrorism list by the Donald Trump administration, which has created more difficulties for foreign investors in Europe and other continents.

The aforementioned list, moreover, is illegal, arbitrary, spurious and contrary to international law, the ambassador denounced.

He answered several questions on Cuba’s economic transformations, trade, new forms of property and foreign investments, the life of Cubans, their current reality, his country’s relations with Russia, China, Vietnam, and global geopolitics.

The ambassador thanked the organizers of the “No! Sanction” campaign (https://no-sanctions.net/) for their solidarity, whose platform mentions his country.

The platform also includes other nations that suffer from unilateral sanctions by the United States and are presented as international, although they are unilateral measures.

The diplomat also recalled that on April 3, 2023, the United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a resolution condemning “the harmful impact of unilateral coercive measures on human rights.”
