The delegates from the bloc’s member countries, invited nations and international organizations that participated in the three-day event also debated on strategies for strengthening international cooperation related to law enforcement and the exchange of information to combat the scourge, according to official source.
They also agreed on initiatives to strengthen the recovery mechanisms for assets related to corruption.
Intense and productive debates on the recovery of assets, the apprehension of fugitive economic criminals and the strengthening of formal and informal channels of cooperation for the exchange of information were held during the meeting.
Issues related to institutional frameworks to combat corruption, mutual legal assistance, among other aspects, were analyzed.
The third meeting of the G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group will take place in Kolkata from August 9th to 11th, the official source said.
India will also host the first Anti-Corruption Ministerial Meeting with the aim of further boosting the G20 agenda in strengthening the international fight against corruption, it was stated.
