India to insist at G20 on more global cooperation against corruption

New Delhi, May 25 (Prensa Latina) India will insist in strengthening international cooperation against economic crimes and corruption, at the upcoming second meeting of the G20 working group in Rishikesh.

Minister Jitendra Singh mentioned among the main issues, the global collaboration to fight corruption, the integrity and effectiveness of public bodies to tackle this plague and the role of audit institutions in its efforts in this regard.

The use of information and communication technology to fight illegal economic activities in public sectors, and the impact on women on this kind of events will also be analyzed.

“The G20 perspective on the synergy of gender sensitivity with anti-corruption strategies”, is a side event that will be held featuring high-level speakers, experts from bloc member countries and international organizations, Jitendra Singh added.

He also explained that India is preparing a compendium of good practices on the role of audit in the fight against corruption.

The initiative aims to improve collaboration in this regard and also with anti-corruption agencies, including promotion of transparency, accountability and efficiency in public finances, he said.

He also referred to the Responsibility Report for 2023 with a focus on the analysis of the efficiency of Mutual Legal Assistance procedures for illegal activity and other criminal offenses.
