“In response to the anti-Russian policy of the Polish authorities, the State Duma lawmakers propose to make the amendments to Decree No. 1728 dated September 30, 2022, so as to ban Polish trucks from transiting on Russian territory,” the resolution, adopted by the lower house of parliament, stated.
The lawmakers propose to set the fuel cost for Polish truckers “at the level of European Union prices,” they added.
State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin stated that due to the decision, Poland would lose about 8.5 billion euros in revenues from Russia.
Volodin also noted that about 2,000 Polish transport companies “will go bankrupt.”
