“Good luck to Senator Tim Scott as he enters the Republican presidential primary race,” Trump posted on Truth Social, adding “it’s a big step up from Ron DeSanctimonious, who is totally unelectable.”

He further noted that he and Scott worked together to establish opportunity zones, an investment incentive included in the 2017 tax cut legislation passed by GOPers and enacted by Trump.

Scott made his presidential campaign official on Monday in his home state of South Carolina, making him the first and likely only Black GOP senator to enter the presidential race.

Trump has focused on attacking Gov. DeSantis, who ranks second in most national polls and leads the former president in some state polls.

DeSantis is expected to formally declare his candidacy for the 2024 nomination later this week.
