Some 231 antiques have been brought back to India in nine years

Jitendra-Singh
New Delhi, May 22 (Prensa Latina) During the last nine years, 231 stolen antiques of incalculable value have been reportedly brought back to India, and the initiatives are maintained to continue with the expeditious return of the national heritage.

During a visit to the First-Ever International Museum Expo in New Delhi, Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh noted that until 2014 and for nearly 70 years since independence, India has only received 13 antiques of Indian origin.

From 2014 to date, India has recovered more than 200 valuable pieces, and has brought more antiques on a fast track, Singh pointed out.

The official also highlighted the Government’s initiatives to reflect India’s millennia-old history and knowledge, one of which is the establishment of science museums nationwide.

He added that those centers showcase traditional knowledge and success stories from recent years, such as the national vaccine against Covid-19, the exhibition of the immune system related to disease prevention through vaccines, and medical experiments.
