A series of strategic round tables will be held this Monday, with delegates, partner agencies, civil society representatives and the World Health Organization(WHO) experts, for the discussion of current and future priorities in relation to public health issues of global importance.
Portal spoke at the meeting of heads of delegations from America prior to the official opening by the supreme body of the WHO. At the same gathering, Cuba’s international cooperation was praised, and it was elected to integrate the General Committee of the assembly.
The Cuban minister held talks with Abdelhak Saihi, his Algerian counterpart, in the context of the Assembly.
“During the dialogue, we ratified the joint willingness to continue working to strengthen our ties of cooperation and brotherhood for the benefit of both nations, to which end we can continue to enhance multiple paths,” Portal commented on Twitter.
There are currently 880 Cuban collaborators working in Algeria. Moreover, Algerian students study at Cuban universities of Medical Sciences.
