Local authorities call for greater efforts in the search for food, making the most of the still existing reserves to make the province one of the most advanced in meeting people´s needs.
Deivy Pérez, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and first secretary in the province, has insisted on the need to meet food needs as first strategy for the nation’s economic development.
Among the demands is the recovery of main productive lines, rice, various crops, viands, and vegetables.
The strategy is to comply with President Miguel Díaz-Canel´s call to produce food efficiently in municipalities to face current economic crisis and raise people´s quality of life.
Prensa Latina learned this strategy will help the economic support of women, the inclusion of young people, work tools, protective equipment, clothing and footwear for peasants, as well as the water supply in homes.
