Russia launches production of Broneboischik armor-piercing missile

Moscow, May 19 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the military industrial complex began production of the Broneboischik (Russian: "armor-piercer") high-power air-to-surface rocket, to be used this year in the special military operation in Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the new rockets will be used by the Su-25 assault jets, the Mi-8/Mi-17 multipurpose helicopters, and other aircraft outfitted with pods of unguided rockets, the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper reported on Friday.

Detonation control allows the missile to be activated inside or outside a vehicle’s armor or a fortification, that is, the delayed detonation allows the penetration of obstacles and exploding a short time after. The rocket is capable of penetrating significantly thick obstacles and hitting the enemy inside its fortifications.
