We express our strongest condemnation of the hunt and demonization of Cuban musicians and artists on European soil or anywhere, so stressed in a press release, the platform of solidarity with Cuba activated in 2020.
Buena Fe’s leaders, Israel Rojas and Yoel Martínez, denounced on social media the harassment and threats from enemies of the Cuban Revolution against the premises where they were to perform in the cities of Salamanca and Zamora, which led to the canceling of their concerts.
Given this situation, Europe for Cuba expressed in the text, to which Prensa Latina had access, its rejection of “all acts contrary to freedom of speech, creation, all manifestations of the prevailing fascism against Cuban musical bands, all violence and coercion against those who hire them and who are, much to their regret, submerged under the weight of the new “autos de fe” of the anti-Cuban extremists (…)”.
Music, as many other human expressions, is a forge of a country’s identity and an intangible part of the world heritage, as stated by the platform, which broadcasts a program on YouTube every Sunday in support of Cuba.
Europe for Cuba called to stop the despicable actions of what it described as a new falsely democratic inquisition against artists who do not bow to the dictates of the empire.
