Deputy Minister Armando Rodriguez tweeted that the head of CITMA congratulated the general director of Cuban Office of National Standardization, Nancy Fernandez, and her team.
Fernandez called to respecting standards in all sectors to achieve the full development of the nation and the satisfaction of citizens.
She explained at the organization’s headquarters that this issue is becoming more important every day since it is impossible to conceive modernity without technical standards.
Any sector of the economy and society will function better if it takes into account the requirements of good practices, the general director advised.
In her opinion, it is vital to achieve harmonization with greater inclusiveness and consensus of all parties, the leader added.
“What defines a good standard is the consensus of society, because once it is approved it must be complied with, but always to protect citizens,” Dr. Fernandez noted.
“It is regrettable to invest time, financial resources, materials and inputs in a product, and because standards are not followed, this good does not meet the needs of the population, she assured.
