“Syria will be present as always and President Al-Assad will lead the delegation,” Al-Mekdad told reporters after his participation in the foreign ministers’ meeting prior to the annual summit.

Last May 10th, Al-Assad received an invitation from the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, to attend the 32nd Arab League summit.

The Arab foreign ministers, who met on May 7th in Cairo, unanimously decided to readmit Syria as a full member of the Arab League after 12 years of being absent from the Arab League.
