The president put the issue as the axis of the debates he held in both provinces on Tuesday afternoon, where he reviewed the progress of the socio-economic strategies approved early this year to address the country’s complex situation.

Diaz-Canel analyzed the possibilities of producing more food to ease the people´s needs and was interested in solving issues that hinder that purpose, the Twitter site of the Presidency of the Republic posted.

Roberto Morales, a member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of Cuba’s Communist Party (PCC), and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero accompanied the head of State, the social media reported.

Matanzas, Artemisa, Mayabeque, Pinar del Río, Sancti Spíritus, Villa Clara, and Cienfuegos provinces, in western and central Cuba, held similar meetings.
