During the meeting in the Principality, one of the 193 member States of the United Nations, Vaillant took advantage of his accreditation as Cuba’s representative to highlight bilateral ties and the will to boost them in economic and cooperation matters.
The diplomat also thanked His Highness for Monaco’s support for the UN General Assembly resolutions on the necessity for the United States to end its economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, a policy that has been in force for more than six decades.
Prince Albert II, in turn, recalled his visit to Cuba in 2001 and his meeting with world-renowned Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso (1920-2019).
At his official headquarters, the Palazzo Principesco, the host conveyed to the ambassador a greeting for Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel.
Monaco and Cuba established diplomatic relations on December 19, 2007.
