These days, the Avellaneda hall of the Havana National Theater hosts the galas of Cubadisco, the largest record festival that rewards the best productions in competition in the country, and that this Saturday will deliver the Grand Prize and other important awards.

In a second moment in this venue, the public will be able to attend the program proposed by the National Folkloric Ensemble of Cuba, on May 19, 20 and 21.

The participants of the workshops carried out by the group at its headquarters will be invited to these functions, in a context in which the dance company directed by Leiván García celebrates a new anniversary since its foundation in 1962.

The group recently participated in the first World Meeting of Popular Cultures, held in Santiago de Cali, Colombia, with successful performance in various stages of the city, as highlighted on social networks by the National Council of Performing Arts.

Following the scenic panorama, the Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba company presents its world premiere Habana Fénix at the Martí Theater, located in Old Havana, on the weekends of this month until the next 21st.

In the capital’s Vedado, the Llauradó theater presents the play La excepción y la regla, with Impulso Teatro, throughout May, while the piece by the Spanish playwright Federico García Lorca, La Zapatera Prodigiosa, in a version by Teatro El Público, will continue on billboards throughout May, at their usual times, according to Cubaescena.
