The Ministry of Culture will host the event until May 12, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Center for Research and Development of Cuban Music (CIDMUC), the 20th anniversary of Producciones Colibri record label, and the 10th anniversary of Cuban television “Canal Clave.”
Thursday’s program includes a speech about CIDMUC and its contribution to the music industry, the panel “Record and Musicological Notes: disentangling Secrets,” and a presentation on the Analysis of “Obini Batá’s performance at Casa de África Museum.”
Next, the screening of the documentary “Soy Marta Almiñán, búsquenme” (I Am Marta Almiñán, Look for Me), directed by ethnomusicologist and audiovisual producer Miguel Ángel García, and the conference “The current situation of Korean music markets focusing on K-pop, festivals, and world music.”
The lecture “Guantánamo: cradle and Watchtower,” the panel “Canal Clave: Cuban television regained its music channel ten years ago;” talks about “Trends in the development of the group, Parranda de Las Vueltas” and “Music and Musicians from Guantánamo. Notes from Aldea Sonante,” among others, took place on Wednesday.
