The invitation was delivered by the ambassador of this Gulf nation in Jordan, Nayef Al-Sudairi, who was received today in this capital by the Syrian president. According to a press release from the Syrian presidency, Bashar Al-Assad thanked the Saudi king for his invitation and considered that this summit will strengthen joint Arab actions and benefit the hopes of the Arab peoples.

The Arab foreign ministers meeting earlier this week in Cairo, the Egyptian capital, unanimously decided the return of Syria to its seat in the Arab League.
