The Ministry of Culture will host the event until May 12, dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Center for Research and Development of Cuban Music (CIDMUC), the 20th anniversary of Producciones Colibri record label, and the 10th anniversary of Cuban television “Canal Clave”.
Wednesday’s activities include the panels “Guantánamo: Cradle and watchtower” and “Canal Clave: Cuban Television regained its music channel ten years ago”; “Trends in the development the group, Parranda de Las Vueltas” and “Music and musicians from Guantánamo. Notes from Aldea Sonante,” among others, are also on today’s list.
Completing today’s activities, are: the panel “From events devoted to music nationwide: Piña Colada Festival, Salsa Festival, the Drum Festival, Jazz Plaza Festival, Young Trova Musicians Festival “Trovándote,” and the Pepe Sanchez Trova Festival,
The International Symposium Cubadisco 2023 opened in Havana on Tuesday as a tribute to three great musicians who have passed away; they are: musicologist Jesús Gómez Cairo, the founder of the Cubadisco International Fair, Ciro Benemelis, and producer María Teresa Linares, all of them with significant cultural and intellectual contributions.
Cubadisco 2023 intends, during the remaining days of the event, to continue stimulating dialogues and exchanging knowledge among the participants on core issues within the music industry.
