Alongside representatives of the diplomatic staff living in Baku, Valdes visited Nakhchivan, the birthplace of the founding father of modern Azerbaijan, and toured different historical sites related to Aliyev’s life.

Those attending the commemorative events also visited the museum bearing his name and familiarized themselves with his work in the first years of his life in the former Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic.

The Cuban ambassador met with Fuad Najafli, a Representative of the President in Nakhchivan, and Hikmet Hajiyev, Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration.
