The resolution adopted by the foreign ministers confirms that, as of this Sunday, May 7, the participation of Syrian delegations in the meetings of the Council of the League and its bodies is resumed, media reported.
In a statement issued at the end of the meeting, the foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to preserve Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and stability, and to continue and intensify Arab efforts to help Syria out of its crisis.
The statement underlined the pressing need for a direct dialogue with the Syrian Government to reach a comprehensive solution to its crisis.
Syria´s membership was frozen in 2011, months after the beginning of the war in this nation.
Media and analysts considered this decision as the beginning of the end of the conflict in Syria, in addition to being a political victory without Damascus offering concessions.
