Havana, May 6 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Saturday reported 31 new Covid-19 cases, and 106 confirmed active patients, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) informed.

According to the MINSAP report, 491 PCR tests were made nationwide at molecular biology laboratories to determine the presence of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

To date, 14,350,675 samples have been tested for the disease, 1,113,431 of which have been positive cases since the pandemic broke out in Cuba in March 2020.

The MINSAP report stated that 205 patients are in hospitals, including 99 suspected and 106 confirmed active cases; 105 citizens are clinically stable, and one is seriously ill and is being treated at an intensive care unit.

The number of recovered patients rose to 1,104,736, while the death toll remains at 8,530.

Cuba’s lethality rate is 0.77 percent, thanks to the control of contagions due to the intense vaccination campaign conducted nationwide.

Until May 4, 44,112,391 doses of Cuba’s homegrown Soberana 02, Soberana Plus, and Abdala vaccines had been administered, and 10,013,246 people have received the complete vaccination scheme.
