At least 136 people died and thousands more were left homeless after drenching rains that caused flash floods and landslides in several parts of Rwanda.
According to Rwandan official sources, evacuation operations are underway for temporarily relocate inhabitants of affected and high-risk areas such as the districts of Rubavu, Ngorororero, Nyabihu (west), Gakenke, Burera, Musanze (north) and Nyamagabe (south) into safest areas.
