The delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in Ciego de Avila, Iyolexis Correa, said that in addition to the natural values of the Jardines del Rey destination, they are exhibiting a presentation of some of the heritage traditions of the territory for recreational purposes.
Among them, he mentioned the popular festivities of the Red and Blue sides of Majagua, an Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Nation festivity with more than nine decades in defense and promotion of peasant dances.
Another tourist product is the Trocha de Jucaro a Moron route, a tour around the ruins of the Spanish fortification built between 1869 and 1878 to prevent the advance of the independence struggle towards western Cuba during the Ten Years’ War.
Also present in FITCuba 2023 are two symbols that identify the city of Moron and that today attract the attention of tourists who visit the recreational center, located in the northern keys of the island.
The first, and perhaps the most representative and eye-catching element of the territory, is the Gallo de Moron, whose bronze monument was created by Cuban sculptor Rita Longa in 1982.
Built at the entrance of the town to welcome and bid farewell to visitors, its majesty expresses the fighting spirit in defense of the sovereignty of the inhabitants and the revolutionary and socialist emblem of the city.
