The crucial moment for tourism in Cuba

Havana, May 1 (Prensa Latina) The beginning today of the 41st International Tourism Fair of Cuba (FITCuba 2023-1 to May 5) aims to face a key moment for the travel sector on this island and its recovery .

In Havana, the capital of the archipelago, the event aims to impact the opinion of tour operators and travel agents, some who come to this tourism exchange for the first time, others with a long history of relations here.

This is the opportunity for some to get closer to the landscapes and benefits of the sector in this country and for others a chance to corroborate it, all with the possibility of giving an additional boost to the smoke-free industry and thus facilitating other economic spheres at really difficult times.

Among the keys to this are the combinations based on the security of the nation and the friendliness of Cubans, to which are added the beauties, traditions and a growing infrastructure of tourism on the island, all to benefit the economy.

When Cuba is known above all for its sun and sand, now the authorities have in hand the idea of diversifying the proposals with circuits, nature, culture, traditions, congresses and meetings, or recreational boating, among others.

Hence, the modality to which FITCuba 2023 is dedicated is Heritage and Culture, with the venue of the event precisely in Havana, a territory that has a lot of it.

Despite the fact that the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) of this nation acknowledges deficiencies, especially in communication plans in this area, and the desire to increase the quality of services, the island seems to be making propaganda by itself.

A plan that is extremely spontaneous and has components of music, dance and traditions that go beyond official proposals.

Hence, each tourism fair is larger compared to the previous one, as many experts repeat, and connoisseurs who have come for the first time are eager for knowledge about tourism in this nation, and in a general sense update their vision of deals.

The Fair as such is a catalyst, a moment for negotiations, but above all the appropriate moments to have a thermometer of how the present is going and what path the future will follow.

For Cuba, tourism represents a keyword, which is why authorities are boldly committed to serving 3.5 million foreign visitors this year, which, as a goal and financial joy, is also a purpose, hope and possibility, amid a symbol in the midst of economic and recovery difficulties.
