On the occasion of this date, 240 workers in the southern province of Sweida were honored, mostly workers in the humanitarian, industrial and service fields.
Hundreds of others also received recognition in other governorates for keeping up with their efforts despite the difficult circumstances the country is going through.
The words pronounced by the union leaders recalled the sacrifices of the working class during the conflict and highlighted the role of workers in the construction and reconstruction process.
Since the start of the war imposed on Syria in 2011, more than 5,000 workers, both in the private and state sectors, have lost their lives in their workplaces at the hands of terrorists.
