The parliamentarians of the National Republican Association Colorado Party (ANR-PC) controls the Legislative after Sunday elections, especially the Senate, for which they received 1,317,463 votes.
The parliamentarians of this pro-government political formation achieved a majority in the two chambers, with which they reached full control of Parliament, according to statistics from the Superior Court of Electoral Justice.
The ANR-PC thus occupies 23 of the 45 seats in the Senate, which is equivalent to its own majority, while the senator with the most votes was from that organization, Silvio Beto Ovelar, who received 281,752 votes.
Representatives of the ANR-PC celebrated the new statistics of the Party in Congress, especially for its weight in the Upper House, where in recent periods the Colorados occupied last places.
The pro-government legislators left the Alianza Senadores por la Patria far behind in Congress, which received 701,547 votes and 12 seats, the third place being occupied by the National Crusade, of the Paraguayan candidate Cubas.
The opposition now has 32 seats, while the youth of non-traditional parties is the novelty in these elections, with the entry into Parliament of Johanna Ortega, from País Solidario, and Rubén Rubin and Raúl Benítez, from Encuentro Nacional.
Media outlets such as Últimas Noticias and ABC Color agreed that the advantage of the Colorado congressmen in both Chambers means a very favorable political scenario for the legislative program of President-elect Santiago Peña.
