“Let’s put #ALaPatriaManosYCorazón, there is always a noble and useful work to be done for Cuba,” the president wrote on his Twitter account, saying that the date will be celebrated on May 5.
The Cuban Workers Federation (CTC) announced the postponement of May Day activities due to weather instability that caused heavy rains in the country’s different regions on Sunday.
In a note published by local television, the workers’ organization, which brings together all the country’s trade unions, pointed out that May 5 will also be declared a labor holiday so that the country’s workers can simultaneously carry out parades and rallies that traditionally take place to celebrate the date.
