Speaking at the India Calling Conference 2023 event, organized by the Mumbai Chamber of Commerce, Goyal said India´s goals are to focus on its international development.
It is not contradictory that while the Trade Industry teams negotiate Agreements with a deep focus on protecting India’s interests, New Delhi urges for prosperity and economic well-being for the entire world, Goyal stressed, while pointing out India’s Vaccine Maitri initiative, which provided 278 million Covid-19 vaccine doses, mostly free, to underprivileged countries, as an example of the nation’s commitment to international well-being.
Goyal stressed the importance of realizing the ‘Panch Pran,’ the five principles outlined by the prime minister, as a nationwide commitment, highlighting the crucial role of women’s empowerment and a corruption-free society in achieving a developed India. He praised the industry’s dedication to social causes and urged everyone to work towards a brighter future for the nation.
The Chairman of the International Business Committee of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IMC) Dinesh Joshi, on the other hand, described as successful the result of the Make in India project, thanks to which India-manufactured products have been favored.
He mentioned that domestic smart phone exports have potentially increased and centers are being set up for manufacturing electronics, pharmaceuticals, textiles, among others.
Finally, Anant Singhania, IMC president, reported that India is now rated fifth largest nation by Gross Domestic Product.
