Former Prime Minister and leader of the Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist, Unified), Prasad Sharma Oli, expressed to the diplomat his admiration for the Cuban people.
He also reaffirmed his solidarity with Cuba’s fight against the US blockade.
Likewise, the leader of the Workers and Peasants Party, Narayan Man Bijushke, and a group of leaders from the Communist Party of Nepal, talked with the Cuban diplomat about the ties of friendship, cooperation and solidarity that connect both countries.
Simancas received similar expressions of warmth towards Cuba at meetings with Rabrindra Adhikari, president of the Council for Peace and Solidarity, and Surendra Raj Gosai, head of the Committee for Solidarity with Cuba.
The Cuban ambassador to Nepal, who resides in India, also met with the leaders of the National Youth Federation and the National Union of Free Students.
As part of his agenda here, the Cuban diplomat visited the municipality of Baktapur, where there is a reminder of the presence in 2015 of the Henry Reeve Cuban Medical Brigade that attended to those injured in an earthquake.
Similarly, Simancas attended a solidarity conference at the Baktapur Technical University on the 48th anniversary of bilateral relations.
