Hero of Cuba: Cuba’s fight is to move forward

Mexico City, Apr 27 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's fight now is to move forward, Ramón Labañino proclaimed in a conversation with members of the Mexican Solidarity Movement at the Cuban embassy.

Labañino, Hero of the Republic of Cuba and one of the five anti-terrorists imprisoned for more than 15 years in the United States, and Elier Ramírez, deputy director of the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, talked with representatives of various states, organizations and foreign guests on current affairs in Cuba as part of their work program in the context of the 27th National Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba.

Both speakers narrated the sacrifices of the Cuban people to overcome a blockade that is present every day, hour and minute in homes and in national affairs, which they considered the main cause of ills ranging from shortages of all kinds to stagnation and inflation.

Labañino and Elier denounced that the 243 measures imposed by Donald Trump to intensify the criminal blockade, remain with Joe Biden and have become more harmful as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

They explained that these are very specific issues that hinder foreign trade and financial movement, hinder foreign investment and force Cubans to use all their intelligence and will to face its effects and continue resisting as they have done since the triumph of the Revolution, the first of January 1959.

Ramírez explained why the blockade is a very serious violation of human rights that the United States government has been committing for more than 60 years and continues to do so.

Both speakers will participate in the meeting organized and sponsored by the Mexican Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, which will take place at the Universidad Obrera Vicente Lombardo Toledano on April 29th and the 30th.
