Buenos Aires, Apr 25 (Prensa Latina) The Argentine Foreign Vice-Minister, Pablo Tettamanti, and the president of the National Assembly (parliament) of Vietnam, Vuong Dinh Hue, expressed today the will of both countries to advance in a comprehensive and strategic association.

During a meeting at the San Martín Palace in the capital, both stressed the importance of increasing cooperation in sectors such as agro-industries and promoting balanced trade.

Tettamanti stressed the need to move forward with the negotiations for the opening of the Vietnamese market to Argentine products and the deepening of economic and political ties.

On the other hand, he thanked that country for its support for the resumption of negotiations between this nation and the United Kingdom to find a peaceful solution to the sovereignty dispute over the Malvinas Islands.

During the meeting, representatives of both States signed a memorandum of understanding on the peaceful uses of outer space, a treaty on legal assistance in criminal matters and one on the transfer of convicted persons.

They also signed agreements for cooperation in spheres such as scientific-technological, justice and parliamentary.

For their part, the Vietnamese News Agency and Argentina’s Télam agreed to advance professional exchange.

As part of the initiatives to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, the Vietnamese leader gave a conference in the Libertador room of the Palace on the achievements, scope and challenges of both States.
