The two sides held the eighteenth round of the commander-level meeting in the Chushul-Moldo border area on the Chinese side on the eve of the meeting, a statement from New Delhi confirmed.
According to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, the meeting was conducive to a candid and in-depth discussion on resolving the relevant issues along the dividing line in the Western Sector to restore peace and tranquility in that region, which, the text notes, will advance bilateral relations.
In line with the guidance provided by state leaders and following the meeting between the two foreign ministers in March 2023, representatives of the two countries held an exchange of views in an open and frank manner, the document ratified.
The parties agreed to maintain security and stability on the ground in the western sector, New Delhi said.
They also resolved to remain in close contact and continue dialogue through military and diplomatic channels and to work out a mutually acceptable solution to the remaining issues as soon as possible.
