During a press conference in Luxembourg after the meeting of foreign ministers of the regional bloc, the Spanish politician urged the members of the group to supply artillery ammunition to Kiev in order to maintain its military effort in the Donbass region.

The Vice-President of the European Commission also announced the continuity of work with its partners on joint acquisitions of military equipment and the payment, as of February 9, of more than 66 percent of the first billion euros.

Since February 24, 2022, Russia has been maintaining the military operation in Kiev, for the defense of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, previously recognized by Moscow as sovereign states, against the genocide assumed by the neighboring country.

Among the objectives of this strategy, as announced by President Vladimir Putin, is the denazification of Ukraine, a nation that receives international support with weapons, donations, humanitarian aid and the application of sanctions against the Kremlin.
