Cai Qui, a member of the Standing Committee of the CCP Political Bureau, described the development of these ties as exemplary during a meeting with Roberto Morales, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the CPC Central Committee.
He also highlighted the relevance of the Cuban authorities´ current visit to promote bilateral ties, by expressing China’s willingness to maintain its support to Cuba for the best of its ability and showing empathy for the current difficulties and pressures Cuba is facing.
The Chinese authority assured that Beijing is willing to promote mutually beneficial cooperation and ratified support for Cuba’s struggle for its sovereignty and against the financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States.
Wang Yi, director of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee Foreign Affairs Commission Office, spoke with Morales on Monday, proposed strengthening more links on the road to socialism and highlighted the value of the traditional friendship between the two states in the face of the challenges of today’s world.
Among other topics, he spoke of the strength of the CPC in Cuban society and Cuba’s contribution to the China-CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) forum, which he classified as an important platform for mutually beneficial interactions.
In turn, Morales expressed confidence that the parties of Cuba and China can be a catalyst for relations between the two nations. He appreciated China’s stance against the US blockade, reaffirmed Cuba’s respect for the One China principle, and praised China’s role in balancing international situations.
