Cuban FM recalls diplomats victims of terrorism in Portugal

Havana, Apr 22 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Saturday recalled Adriana Corcho Calleja and Efren Monteagudo Rodriguez, victims of dreadful terror attack on Cuba's embassy in Portugal on April 22, 1976.

“We will be loyal to the commitment to champion the conquests of the Cuban Revolution for which they gave their lives,” the Cuban foreign minister tweeted.

According to historical documents, both diplomats were killed 47 years ago by a bomb explosion at the Cuban embassy in Lisbon.

Upon detecting the explosive device, Adriana Corcho alerted the rest of the officials and staffers at the embassy about the situation.

Every year, the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX) commemorates the sad incident that was part of a chain of terrorist acts sponsored by the CIA with the aim of weakening and destroying the Cuban Revolution.
