Launched on April 3, the initiative calls on associations, prominent figures, and citizens to carry out actions from country to country and continent to continent as waves of solidarity with Cuba, a country that has been a victim of an economic, commercial, and financial siege imposed by Washington for more than 60 years.
José Antonio Toledo, one of the coordinators of Europe for Cuba channel, a platform founded in October 2020 to defend the Cuban Revolution, told Prensa Latina that they are satisfied with the participation of Canadians and Cuban residents in the North American nation, where our campaign started and will continue in the coming days in the American continent.
In his opinion, all actions aims to denounce and condemn the blockade, both street actions and those developed on social media, so the channel’s call is open to any local initiative.
Among the activities was to fill a container with medical supplies for Cuba, thanks to several people’s efforts.
Toledo also announced the possibility of extending the “Tsunami” until June. The targets are prominent figures and citizens from America, Europe, Africa, and Asia for their participation in the aforementioned campaign.
