In his Twitter account, the president informed that he was heading to the municipality of Santa Clara to fulfill his promise: “Every month we will return for deputies´ tours of this city. As we said in the Parliament, the new Legislature must be distinguished by its permanent contact with those who elected us”, he pointed out.
During the constitutive session of the 10th Legislature of the National Parliament, Diaz-Canel called on the deputies to attend social needs of neighborhoods and communities as a working priority.
In that context, he acknowledged that all newly elected representatives of the people had greater responsibilities ahead of them and that each one of the deputies would defend the rights of the majority, without being paid or receiving perks for their position as such a peculiarity of democracy in Cuba. Personally, the dignitary pledged to attend to the needs of his people, serving them, until the ultimate consequences, “with passion, commitment and without reluctance”.
